Arsenal win 2-1 at Newcastle
The Unai Emery era at Arsenal is beginning to pick up pace.
After defeats to Man City and Chelsea at the start of the year, the Gunners have rebounded with three wins in a row.
West Ham, Cardiff and Newcastle have all lost to Arsenal in recent weeks.
At St James’ Park on Saturday, goals from Granit Xhaka and Mesut Ozil sunk the Magpies.
Ciaran Clark scored a late consolation.
It all started at Cardiff City…
One of the key formation issues which Unai Emery has ironed out in his first months at Arsenal is how to line up the attack.
Alexandre Lacazette was only partially used in Arsenal’s opening three fixtures.
But against Cardiff and Newcastle, Lacazette completed 90 minutes.
Lacazette is now Arsenal’s central striker, while Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang plays on the left side.
Lacazette scored the winner at Cardiff.
However the French striker also focused attentions for how he slapped Shkodran Mustafi after the German scored in Wales.
