1. SUMMER RECAP: Senior Sara Castellano and sophomore Lexi Keberle had a productive summer, competing in, and winning, the ITA Summer Nationals tournament. Castellano won the singles title in Fort Worth, Texas and snagged a second-place finish in doubles with Keberle. The two Badgers earned a spot in the Riviera/ITA Women’s All-American Championships due to their success in Texas.
2. ANOTHER YEAR OLDER: Keberle, coming off of an impressive freshman campaign, will be looking to build on her already successful career as a Badger in 2018-19. Ranked No. 26 in the nation out of high school, Keberle came into Wisconsin and immediately produced. Playing in the No. 1 singles position all season, the West Bend, Wis. native posted a 25-10 overall record, including 13-5 in dual competition. Competing against national ranked opponents, Keberle finished 1-4 in the department.
As a freshman, Keberle held an 18-5 doubles mark, including 10-8 in dual play while playing alongside a variety of teammates.

3: SCHEDULE PREVIEW: The Badgers will compete in ten fall matches, running from Sept. 23 all the way to Jan. 13. before beginning dual play. Wisconsin opens the spring season with nine non-conference matches before beginning conference play. Big Ten competition opens on Feb. 24 with a host of border-rival Minnesota.
4: STADIUM UPGRADE: Over the summer the outdoor portion of Nielsen Tennis Stadium was getting a complete makeover. Eight courts replaced the previous six, behind the Nielsen Tennis Stadium building. NCAA-certified lighting was also installed as well as an elevated grandstand and six scoreboards to track the matches.

5: UPDATED ROSTER: The Badgers are returning five athletes from the 2017-18 roster: MaryAnn Rompf, Melissa Pick, Keberle, Castellano and Christina Zordani. Wisconsin lost Kelsey Grambeau and Michelle Linden, however brought in Ava Markham of Demarest, N.J. and Anna Makarova of Moscow, Russia, previously a member of James Madison women’s tennis.
