MUSCAT: Keeping up its decades old traditions of awarding and rewarding the winners and outstanding achievers, Oman Cricket (OC) will hold its Annual Day Awards gala for the Premier and Senior Division teams on Wednesday, October 3 at 7 pm at Al Falaj Hotel.

His Highness Sayyid Haitham bin Tariq bin Taimour Al Said, Minister of Heritage and Culture and Patron-in-Chief, Oman Cricket, will be the chief guest and award the achievers of the season 2017-18 that concluded in April this year.

Senior Oman Cricket officials will brief the august gathering — comprising local dignitaries, foreign diplomats, senior public and private sector officials and a large number of cricket players, officials and fans — on the salient features of the previous season as well as its future plans.

“All Senior Division champions and runners-up in the previous season (2017/18) have been allocated 15 invitations for the ceremony. Individual toppers will receive one invitation each while all the participating teams get two invitations to the annual event,” said an OC official.

“Teams and individuals are advised to collect their invitations from OC office,” he added.

A whopping 117 teams are taking part in the current season (2018-19) that started on September 14 at various cricket grounds in the Omani capital.
