Don’t get burned, coaches.
The hot seat is starting to warm up around the NFL. Yes, already. With weekly odds on which NFL head coach will be fired first, it’s never too early to look around the league and assess which leaders are in big trouble.
From established, Super Bowl champions to second-year coaches that haven’t even been given the chance to establish a program, the NFL moves fast. Once an owner decides it’s time to shake things up, coaches can be out the door fast.
Here’s a ranking, from most-to-least likely to go by the end of the 2018 season, of NFL coaches on the hot seat.
Hue Jackson, Browns
2018 record: 1-1-1
Career record with franchise: 2-32-1
Why he could go: This team has the talent to win seven or eight games. You can make a case that the Browns would be 3-0 if Jackson had identified the better quarterback to play from the jump.

Todd Bowles, Jets
2018 record: 1-2
Career record with franchise: 23-31
Why he could go: This has to be a year of progress for a young Jets team now armed with a franchise quarterback. If Sam Darnold struggles and wins don’t arrive, Bowles could be let go for an offensive mind,
Sean McDermott, Bills
2018 record: 0-2
Career record with franchise: 9-9
Why he could go: It’s tough to recover from 0-16, but McDermott might be on the path to having to do just that.
Vance Joseph, Broncos
2018 record: 2-0
Career record with franchise: 7-11
Why he could go: It felt like Joseph was on the hot seat at the end of last season. If a 2-0 start becomes another mediocre season, it wouldn’t be shocking to see John Elway move on in Denver.
