Morata opens up
Chelsea striker Alvaro Morata has opened up on his Chelsea struggles last year as well as his muted goal celebration against Vidi
The Spaniard hasn’t had the most straightforward of starts to his Premier League career.
Despite a positive start, it all went pretty sour for the forward last season.
He fell out of form, was eventually replaced by Olivier Giroud and didn’t go to the World Cup.
Now, he’s opened up on it all.

“I had had a very bad time”
Recently the player was quoted in an interview as saying he had something similar to depression during last season.
He has now corrected that when describing his experiences last season.
“I did not say exactly that,” he explained in an interview with El Mundo.
“I said it was not depression, but that I had had a very bad time.
“I arrived in London, scored seven goals in seven games, the fans sang to me, people loved me and suddenly I got injured, I wanted to play with pain and I was wrong.
“I was not there to compete, the doctors gave me the leave but I wanted to play. It was a mistake.”
Muted goal celebration explained
Morata also discussed his celebration against Vidi.
The player didn’t celebrate, with some even suggesting that he cried following his goal and was consoled by Willian.
Now, he’s refuted those claims and explained he didn’t celebrate because he doesn’t have to be happy about scoring ‘against a team much lower than ours’.
“I do not have to be happy to score a goal against a team much lower than ours,” he continued.
“What’s more, I should have gotten more than one and that’s why I was not happy.
“Of course, I was not crying or many things that have been said.
“In England take advantage of these things, because they do not have the same level with me as with other people, but hey, as long as they speak, it means that you are there and that they want you to go wrong in some way.”
