Patriots vs. Packers highlights Week 9 in the NFL but that’s not the only game we’re looking forward to this week.
A battle of the Bay Area kicks off Week 9 in the NFL with the 1-6 Raiders taking on the 1-7 record. That’s certainly not the best matchup of the week, but Sunday’s game and even the Monday night Titans vs. Cowboys game offer a lot more to get excited about.
Among those exciting things is Patrick Mahomes’ record-breaking season. With 300 passing yards against the Browns, (Sunday at 1 p.m. ET, CBS), the Chiefs quarterback would join Colts quarterback Andrew Luck (2014) as the only quarterbacks with at least 300 passing yards in eight consecutive games within a single season in league history. The safe bet is on Mahomes’ continued success.
Another record to watch for will be Vikings wide receiver Adam Thielen going for his ninth-straight game with 100+ receiving yards. Thielen is already the first player in NFL history with at least 100 receiving yards in each of his team’s first eight games to start a season. With 100 receiving yards on Sunday against the Lions (1 p.m. ET, FOX), Thielen would become the only player in NFL history to record nine consecutive games with at least 100 receiving yards.
Plus, Sunday Night Football features two future Hall of Famers as Tom Brady and the Patriots take on Aaron Rodgers and the Packers in a game that’s sure to be among the week’s best.
