The Hockey News wins silver at Canadian Online Publishing Awards

The Hockey News was awarded a silver medal at the 2018 Canadian Online Publishing Awards on Wednesday.

The Hockey News’ senior writer Ken Campbell was honored for his outstanding effort in covering the Humboldt Broncos tragedy, earning silver in the category of Best Continuing Coverage of a News Story. Campbell’s effort in Humboldt spanned two weeks and told the stories of those affected by the disaster that claimed the lives of 16 people, with perspectives from parents, teammates and opponents of the 10 Broncos players who passed away in April.

“Ken Campbell’s coverage of the Humboldt tragedy brought tears to my eyes and he has honored the victims, families, fans and community with respect, grace, humility and distinction that made us all proud at The Hockey News,” said The Hockey News executive chairman and publisher W. Graeme Roustan.
