Osaka, 21, and 28-year-old Nishikori will highlight the exhibition’s player field as the local crowd will have a chance to watch the top two Japanese tennis stars.
World No. 5 Osaka has emerged as the next big thing on the women’s tour after a breakthrough 2018 campaign. The 21-year-old drew attention to her name earlier this year when she made it all the way at the Indian Wells Masters.
The Japanese then absolutely conquered Flushing Meadows, having lost only one set in seven matches played on her way to winning a maiden Grand Slam title. Nishikori, a nine-time ATP champion, has enjoyed a successful comeback from a wrist surgery as he has climbed up to No.
9 in the world after dropping to 39 in April. The 28-year-old also made his debut appearance at the Nitto ATP Finals event this season. World No. 25 Chung, who reached his career-high ranking of No. 19 this year, also enjoyed a breakthrough season on the tour despite being plagued by injuries throughout the year.
The crowd will also have a chance to see former world No. 2 and 1989 French Open champion Chang in action. Also read: Classy Nicolas Mahut recognizes greatness of Mike Bryan
