Christian Vazquez gets second ring in a month

The offseason has made the gap in time seem longer, but it was less than a month that Red Sox catcher Christian Vazquez leapt into Chris Sale’s arms after a strikeout secured Boston’s World Series victory.

It was the end of a nearly-incomparable month for Vazquez, who caught in all but two of Boston’s postseason games and homered for the decisive blow in the ALDS clincher against the Yankees. After all the fun of October, how could November possibly be any better for Vazquez with no baseball?

Here’s the trick: Marry the love of your life.

That makes two rings within the span of a month for Vazquez.

On Saturday, Vazquez and Gabriela Otero got married in Puerto Rico. His pal, former Nationals infielder Neftali Soto (who spent 2018 in Japan with the Yokohama Bay Stars), offered a glimpse of the joyous reception:

Congratulations to the happy couple.

The next goal? Add another World Series ring to the collection in 2019.
