Calgary Flames coach Bill Peters was hit on the face by a puck and needed stitches during Sunday’s game against the Arizona Coyotes.
The game was stopped early in the second period as Peters was slowly helped off the bench for medical attention with a towel covering his head.
But Peters ended up returning to the game later in the period after receiving eight stitches, according to multiple reports.
He missed about 10 minutes of game time, during which the Flames scored twice en route to a 6-1 win.
In his first year as Calgary’s coach, Peters has led the Flames to a 14-9-1 record, which is good for second place in the Pacific Division.
Peters, who coached the Carolina Hurricanes during the previous four seasons, took over a Flames team that went 37-35-10 last season and finished as the fifth-worst team in the Western Conference.
