Leicester City are seeking to progress to the quarter-finals of the Carabao Cup on Tuesday at the expense of Southampton.
The match was initially scheduled to be played on October 30 but the tragic King Power Stadium helicopter crash that killed five, including owner Vichai Srivaddhanaprabha, meant that a postponement was necessary.
The Foxes have enjoyed steady form since that day, beating Cardiff City and drawing against Burnley and Brighton, and they will be hopeful of continuing that against a Southampton side seemingly destined to face a relegation battle this term.

Southampton find themselves with a largely healthy squad prior to the trip to the King Power Stadium, although there are doubts over forwards Shane Long and Danny Ings.

Match Preview
Although Leicester lie 10th in the Premier League, having established a nine-point cushion to Southampton in 18th, manager Claude Puel has made it clear that their immediate priority is to consolidate that position as opposed to chasing Carabao Cup glory.
“It’s a fantastic opportunity for some players to have game time,” admitting that alterations will be made in order to preserve the team’s best long-term interests.
“We managed with 10 men at Brighton, so we’ll see how we can play against Southampton.
“The cup is important for this squad, important for the Club, and it’s important to carry on because we may achieve something at the end of the season.
“We will give our best like every time but we have to manage all the difficulties.”
For Southampton boss Mark Hughes, though, each game is of the utmost importance as he tries to preserve his job.
Saints have just one win and eight points to their credit after a wretched start to the season while they suffered a frustrating 3-2 reverse to Fulham at the weekend.
“We have to learn from these games, of course we do,” Stuart Armstrong, who scored both Southampton’s goals at Craven Cottage, told the club’s official website.
“Tuesday is a good chance to make amends, move forward and progress.

“The quality is there – we have a very talented squad and I feel we’re better than the league position shows.
“We’ve had a number of results where we’ve ended up with a draw when we’ve felt we could’ve had more, so we need to start turning those draws into wins.”
It may not be Christmas yet, but it is already getting to the stage of the season where any win will do for the embattled south coast side.
