Burnley’s Steven Defour update before Liverpool game

Burnley vs Liverpool

Burnley take on Liverpool on Wednesday as they fight to escape the relegation zone.

After 14 games of the season Burnley sit in 19th place on just nine points having won two, drawn three and lost nine.

A win for Burnley could see them move up to 16th. However, a win is very unlikely to come vs Liverpool.

Liverpool head into the game 2nd in the table and unbeaten in the Premier League this season.

They have won 11 and drawn three and are just two points behind league leaders, Manchester City.

However, Liverpool may have to face Burnley without both Sadio Mane and Andy Robertson as the duo are an injury doubt.

Steven Defour injury update

Burnley are also dealing with their own injury problems ahead of the Liverpool game.

Steven Defour has already missed the start of Burnley’s season due to a calf problem.

The Belgian has recovered from it and has featured in Burnley’s last six Premier League games.

However, Sean Dyche has on Tuesday, revealed that Defour is ‘touch and go’ ahead of the clash with Jurgen Klopp’s side.

Defour was a key member of Burnley’s squad last season that managed to secure Europa League qualification. However, Defour would also miss the last part of the 2017/18 season through injury.
