Mitchell Marsh has been dropped for the first Test against India with Peter Handscomb taking the final batting spot while Marcus Harris has been confirmed for a debut opening the innings.
Harris will take his place alongside Aaron Finch with Usman Khawaja batting at No. 3.
The decision to leave out Mitchell Marsh means Tim Paine will be left with fewer bowling options although Travis Head can provide some part-time offspin.
Marsh had a lean series against Pakistan in the UAE which followed a tough time in South Africa where his runs dried. That came after an impressive 2017-18 Ashes where he made his two Test hundreds.
