LaMarcus Aldridge passes Steve Nash on NBA’s all-time scoring list

San Antonio Spurs big man LaMarcus Aldridge has passed NBA Hall of Famer Steve Nash on the NBA’s all-time scoring list.

According to Jordan Howenstine of the Spurs’ PR department, LaMarcus Aldridge has passed Steve Nash at slot No. 84. Nash scored 17,387 points during his legendary playing career with the Phoenix Suns, Dallas Mavericks and Los Angeles Lakers.

LaMarcus Aldridge is the definition of a consistent scorer. The six-time All-Star has averaged at least 17.0 points per game 12 seasons in a row. His rookie season with the Portland Trail Blazers is the only time he didn’t score over 17 points a night.

For his career, LaMarcus Aldridge averages 19.4 points per game. Even at 33-years of age, Aldridge is still a load to deal with in the post. At 6-foot-11, Aldridge’s patented turnaround jump shot is still impossible to block. This is a tremendous accomplishment for Aldridge, who has passed one of the best point guards to have ever played the game.

The next great player for LaMarcus Aldridge to pass is Earl “The Pearl” Monroe, who scored 17,454 points during his Hall of Fame career. Aldridge will likely pass Monroe in the next few games. The former No. 2 overall pick is the second leading scorer on the Spurs, trailing only DeMar DeRozan.
