Jon Rahm, Justin Thomas commit to Waste Management Phoenix Open

Jon Rahm, who earned his sixth worldwide victory on Dec. 2 in the Hero World Challenge, is among the latest commitments to the 2019 Waste Management Phoenix Open.

Justin Thomas, ranked No. 4 in the Official World Golf Ranking, and Tony Finau, the 10th-ranked golfer in the world, are also committed to the event.

Also, two-time tournament champ Hideki Matsuyama as well as Xander Schauffele and Webb Simpson have also signed on to play at the TPC Scottsdale.

Tournament Chairman Chance Cozby made the announcement on Tuesday.

“The field is already beginning to take shape as we get closer to the New Year and we are expecting it once again to be one of the strongest fields on TOUR,” said Tournament Chairman Chance Cozby. “We are already receiving commitments from former champions, FedExCup winners, and some of the top-ranked golfers in the world and we’re excited to see strength of the field grow as we get closer to The People’s Open.”

The event is Jan. 31-Feb. 3 on the Stadium Course.
