In an interview to Tennis Magazin, Alexander Zverev revealed some other interesting details on his relationship with his coach Ivan Lendl. They started working together in July this year and the 21-year-old had a lot of success as he won the ATP Finals in London. ‘I always listen to him,’ said Zverev.
‘He has all the data and technique on his computer. He really likes to be able to use data to show me that I am wrong.’ Commenting on his physical strength, Zverev added: ‘I weigh around 90 kilograms now.
That’s the weight I have to bring on the court with me. So now I do not plan to gain a lot of muscles in the preparation. It’s about finding the right balance and my fitness coach Jez Green has many ideas. The work I did with him in the last few years immensely helps me.’ Zverev also spoke about his on court and off-court character: ‘I try to be the same person in personal life like in the public appearances.
I try to be nice and patient. Especially when I am with kids. But I do not see myself as a superstar or a special person that wants to touch everyone. But I appreciate a lot kids who want to approach me.’ Zverev is currently training in Monte Carlo, he will start his new season at the Hopman Cup.
