MLB hot stove: Phillies reportedly interested in SP Dallas Keuchel, but not for 5 years | MLB

The Phillies are after yet another pitcher.

According to MLB.com, Philadelphia is interested in 2015 American League Cy Young winner Dallas Keuchel.

But the Phillies are reportedly unwilling to go to a fifth year in a potential deal for the lefty.

Philadelphia was also in on free-agent lefty Patrick Corbin, but it was reportedly unwilling to go to a sixth year in a deal for him and he ultimately signed with the Nationals for six years and $140 million.

Keuchel has a better long-term track record than Corbin as he has posted three 200-plus inning seasons, a Cy Young award and three years of sub-3.00 ERAs. He has also stayed relatively healthy in his MLB tenure.

Corbin however, is younger and does throw harder than Keuchel who is more of a ground-ball specialist.

According to MLB.com, the Astros could still re-sign Keuchel who the team drafted in the seventh round in 2009, but it is a long shot.
