OceanFirst announces Renault Winery & Golf sale

Renault Properties LLC, a newly formed company, has taken over ownership of the Renault Winery & Golf resort following a sale agreement with OceanFirst Bank.

Red Bank-based OceanFirst Bank announced the transition Friday, having been a secured creditor for the property under the previous ownership the bank has operated the facility since November 2015.

The bank said the facility will continue operating while honoring any existing commitments or reservations under its new ownership, as indicated by Renault Properties President Josh McCallen.

“Although we didn’t expect to be running Renault for more than three years, it was very important to OceanFirst to continue operating the facility for the benefit of the local economy and so the events and celebrations could occur without interruption,” OceanFirst Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Christopher Maher said in a release. “We are also pleased that the new owners are committed to enhancing and carrying on Renault’s rich tradition.”

According to OceanFrist, under its purview the resort hosted more than 37,000 guests for over 2,400 wine tours, 111 wedding and 296 banquets.

A recognized New Jersey State Historical site, the 242-acre Renault Winery & Golf resort features restaurants, a banquet facility, hotel, winery and golf course. It is located in both Egg Harbor City and Galloway Township.
