Palace looking to strengthen up front
Crystal Palace have reportedly made a bid for one Everton striker as they look to improve upon their attacking options this season.
Despite some very impressive results this season, the side are still embroiled in a relegation battle.
They currently sit 14th in the Premier League table but are just six points above the relegation zone.
One of their troubles this season have come in the final third.
Quite a few of their strikers have been very disappointing bar Wilfred Zaha and Andros Townsend in recent weeks.
Jordan Ayew scored his only goal of the season last night against Wolves, having failed to score in 12 appearances before that.
Christian Benteke has struggled with injury and is yet to score this season in four appearances.
Alexander Sørloth has also been very disappointing during the Premier League campaign.
He has made 12 appearances and hasn’t scored on assisted in that time.
Finally, Connor Wickham has made four appearances and also hasn’t scored or assisted.
Now, the club are looking to add some firepower to their squad in January.
Bid for Everton forward
According to reports, they have already started that process by making a bid for Everton striker Oumar Niasse.
The Senegalese forward hasn’t had a great Toffees career.
He has failed to impress four managers during his time at Everton in Roberto Martinez, Ronald Koeman, Sam Allardyce and Marco Silva.
He was linked with a move to Palace in the summer but a deal fell through at the 11th hour.
Now, Roy Hodgson’s side have made another move, making a bid of ‘no less than €7million’ according to Senegalese website WiwSport.
It’s not mentioned as to whether that will be enough to sign him or not but Niasse could be closing in on a move that would end his Everton nightmare.
