Arsenal’s Koscielny & Chelsea’s Ruben Loftus-Cheek suffer injury setbacks

Arsenal & Laurent Koscielny

Laurent Koscielny has only recently returned to action for Arsenal after a long eighth-moth period on the sidelines.

During that period, Laurent Koscielny missed being part of France’s World Cup winning squad in Russia.

Koscielny is known to suffer from chronic Achilles problems.

On Saturday the centre-half was missing from Arsenal’s squad away at Blackpool in the FA Cup.

The good news for Arsenal fans is that Koscielny wasn’t out because of his known injury issues.

Unai Emery confirmed that Koscielny missed the Blackpool game with a back problem.

Chelsea & Ruben Loftus-Cheek

Ruben Loftus-Cheek was bad in the Chelsea starting XI on Saturday for the FA Cup tie against Nottingham Forest.

Chelsea won the match 2-0 thanks to two goals from Alvaro Morata.

However Loftus-Cheek left the Forest game in tears in the first half.

RLC was replaced by Eden Hazard before the interval.

Speaking after the game, Carlo Cudicini revealed that Loftus-Cheek could be sidelined for a while:

We are very sorry for the kid.

His impact for the games that he played so far, even today I feel he was contributing very much.

It is a pity. It is something we need to resolve and maybe he might have to stop for a bit to resolve. He is doing very well.

Loftus-Cheek is also out with a back issue.
