MR. GOLF: Check out these seminars to brush up on golf rules – News – Tuscaloosa News

With 2019 now upon us, the much-anticipated wide-ranging changes to the rules of golf are now in effect. What better way to educate yourself than attend a seminar about them?

To that end, the Alabama Golf Association (AGA) has announced the Winter schedule for its annual educational series of USGA Rules of Golf Seminars. As you will see in the schedule below, don’t delay if you live in Tuscaloosa as the seminar covering this locale is Tuesday night.

The seminars are free of charge to attendees, who will view a narrated computer presentation on the major changes in the 2019 Rules of Golf followed by question and answer sessions. Seminars typically last between 1 ½ to 2 hours in duration and all start at 5:30 pm. A free 2019 USGA Player’s Edition of the Rules of Golf book will be distributed to all participants, and information on the Alabama Golf Association will be available.

Seminars are open to golfers of all ages and abilities including members of AGA member clubs, golf professionals, college and high school golf teams and the general public.

PGA members receive two “General Category” MSR education credits for attending a seminar.

Seminar attendees are encouraged to pre-register online at: http://www.alabamagolf.org/education-seminars.

I attended an AGA Rules seminar hosted by Vestavia Country Club last month and it was incredibly informative and well put together. Between co-presenters AGA Executive Director Andy Priest and AGA Director of Rules & Competitions/Course Rating Brian Scheufler they have a wealth of knowledge to impart. I urge you to attend the seminar convenient to your location.
