Jannsen & Nkoudou: Tottenham’s January transfer updates

Pochettino provides transfer updates

Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino has opened up on potential exits for Vincent Janssen and Georges-Kévin N’Koudou amid the clubs injury crisis.

Spurs currently have several problems on the injury front.

A fair few players have suffered injuries recently and that has left Pochettino with a pretty bare squad.

Harry Kane’s injury has forced Pochettino to play Fernando Llorente, who scored an own goal in the last game against Fulham.

Vincent Wanyama, Lucas Moura and Moussa Sissoko have all also suffered injuries but Moura and Sissoko could return against Chelsea on Thursday.

Dele Alli is the most recent player to fall when he was injured in the clash with Fulham.

With those problems came the need to play members of the squad who were out of favour.

Georges-Kévin N’Koudou made only his second appearance in all competitions against Fulham and assisted Harry Winks for the winning goal.

Meanwhile, Vincent Janssen hasn’t even played a first-team game this season due to his form and an injury problem.

Though, he has been linked with a move to Burnley this week by the Daily Mail.

Now, Pochettino has provided updates on the future of both players.

“We need to find a solution”

Pochettino explained today in his press conference that the club are trying to move Janssen on.

Though, Georges-Kévin N’Koudou remains in his plans.

“For different reasons that professional relationship isn’t working and we need to find a solution [with Janssen],” he explained, as quoted by football.london on Wednesday.

“We are trying to find the resolution. He got the injury months ago and we’re helping him, trying to find the right place for him to feel again like a player and play football.

“I think that’s completely different [with Nkdoudou]. Never was Nkoudou in a similar situation as Vincent. If he was in the squad or involved, like at Fulham, it’s because he is in our plans, in Tottenham’s plans.”
