MLB hot stove: Yankees could still add starter to bolster rotation depth, report says | MLB

The Yankees are all but done this offseason, but they could be looking to add one more piece.

New York could add a starter to bolster the team’s rotation depth, according to a report from Fancred Sports.

As of Friday, the Yankees’ potential starting rotation consists of Luis Severino, James Paxton, J.A. Happ, Masahiro Tanaka and CC Sabathia. They also have other options including Jonathan Holder, Jonathan Loaisiga, Domingo German, Chance Adams and Luis Cessa.

But with the health history of Tanaka and the age of Sabathia, searching for a back-up plan might not be a bad idea.

Dallas Keuchel is still on the open market but he expects to be expensive, so other options could include Gio Gonzalez, James Shields or Clay Bucholz among others.

If they Yankees were to stand pat though, it wouldn’t be the most surprising thing in the world. They still have a very good farm system and a lot of arms to choose from on their 40-man roster.
