The Super Bowl may have been a complete bore to everyone other than Tom Brady’s daughter and the residents of New England but one of the highlights of the night was undoubtedly the NFL’s the 100-Year Game commercial. The two-minute tribute to America’s favorite sport (sorry, baseball) was packed with cameos from dozens of beloved players from nearly every era of the game’s history but viewers may have been surprised to see a teen girl appear near the end of the commercial and goes head to head-to-head against All-Pro cornerback Richard Sherman.
Who is this mysterious baller? Her name is Samantha Gordon and it turns out she is a total beast on the field. The 15-year-old running back first came into the national spotlight way back in 2012, when her dad Brent began posting highlight videos of her dominating the all-boys tackle football league she was in. Sam rushed for over 2,000 yards and scored a whopping 35 touchdowns.

Since then, her legend has only grown. In 2015, Sam (with some help from her dad) founded the Utah Girls Tackle Football League, the country’s first all-girls tackle football league, where she has continued to be an unstoppable badass. And in 2017, she was the winner of the NFL’s inaugural Game Changer Award, which was created to “celebrate those who are committed to moving the game forward.”
At only 15, Gordon’s football career appears to only be getting started and her dad has always known that she was destined to do great things on and off the field.
“When she was about 3 or 4 years old and we would play soccer out in the yard with my older son . . . and they’d try to be a little bit rough with her and even intentionally try to kick the ball at her and she wouldn’t be fazed and would keep getting up,” Brent told Good Morning America back in 2012. “I kind of had an idea that she’s got an aggressive mentality back then.”
