LeBron James: Kyrie Irving to Lakers ‘CONFIRMED’ after NBA All Star Game – Lakers fans | Other | Sport

Irving has been linked with a potential move to the Los Angeles Lakers this summer, as he is out of contract and has recently reconciled with James.

And his performance in the All Star game led many to believe that the deal was done for the summer.

Irving previously declared that he intends to stay with the Boston Celtics next year, however in recent weeks he has been less committal towards extending his contract.

Speaking at the start of the month, Irving insisted that he would make his decision on July 1, just days after admitting that he had called James to apologise for the way he acted when the two were team-mates for the Cleveland Cavaliers.

This immediately sent the rumour mill into overdrive, as fans speculated about a potential new team for the superstar.

The New York Knicks are expected to be a possibility, as they recently created cap space for two max salary contracts, coupled with the fact that Irving was brought up in New Jersey.

Kevin Durant is also expected to be a target for the Knicks, and fans believe that Irving will choose a switch to Los Angeles instead.

Lakers fans took to Twitter after Irving and James combined for an alley-oop slam dunk.

“If we’re being real, Kawhi and Kyrie are coming to the Lakers,” one posted.

Another wrote: “Can’t wait till Kyrie does this in a Lakers jersey”

“Can’t wait till Kyrie and KD sign with the Lakers” One optimistic Lakers fan wrote.

One fan tweeted: “KYRIE IS COMING TO THE LAKERS”

Another fan predicted that Durant will join “Mann Bron KD and Kyrie laughing together! Big 3 to the Lakers confirmed!”

“Kyrie to Lakers confirmed” another posted.

One fan suggested the lakers will get Irving instead of Anthony Davis: “I don’t think the Lakers get Anthony Davis but I put money on Kyrie going there in free agency.”
